fic talk

i talk to myself about writing fic here. stolen from this tumblr post

— How long have you been writing fanfiction?
since i was in elementary school. my brother and i wrote the clone wars fanfic together. dont ask

— Do you have a favorite word? (One that you love. Doesn’t necessarily have to be one you use all the time.)
no

— Share a favorite run-on sentence that you’ve written.
"Afterwards, he calls his mother for the first time in weeks, tells her about his ankle, about his final year, insists that he's been good, he misses her and the rest back home, yes, the English have horrible food, the weather is miserable, he'd much rather be by the sun and the sea but his body is being a bit useless by now, and his mother scolds him, says, well it was clearly that other boy's fault, not yours, and he laughs, tells her she's right, and when they hang up, he feels the warmth of the sun bleed through the window."

— Share a bit of a scene that you’ve written that still gives you FEELS.
" On the train home, Hongjoong imagined Mingi seeing him from across the carriage, and then walking away in disgust.

He cried for the first time in months."

— What is your favorite kind of character interaction to write?
a dude who hates another dude but are tragically codependent w/ one another

— Do you have a hyper-specific genre?
see: above

— Any personal or frequently used tags?
au - modern universe

— Share a joke or funny moment that you’ve written that still makes you laugh.
"You're just mad because you're all bitchless and I'm bitchful," Joshua says.
This is true. They are all woefully dry and single, except for Joshua who is Married, and Minghao, who works in mysterious ways.

— Best editing tip?
don't edit on the go, because you'll end up scrapping the whole thing. i usually edit on a different document/in the ao3 drafts

— What drives you to write?
sheer spite and anger

— Share something about your writing that you have wished someone would ask you about. Or alternatively, something that you are just really proud of.
i would love to talk to more people about their literary influences in writing, because i think the whole point of writing is to read more (and interact with more art in general). admittedly, i am guilty of not Doing Enough, but i hope to amend this sometime.

dont know if that answers anything at all but there you go

— Where do you draw inspiration?
my vast mind
(srs: literary fiction)

— What is your immediate reaction when you receive a new comment on a fic?
I Am Being Perceived. Cool

in all seriousness, i would be lying if i said a part of me doesn't write for comments . i love getting Insight into my readers' minds

— What is your biggest challenge in writing?
the act of writing itself

— 1-2 sentence preview from your current WIP?? (Only if you are willing.)
Jeonghan hears the quiet creak of Minghao's room closing shut. He curses him for a thousand years.

"Hi," Mingyu says, far too preppy for Jeonghan's liking. "Can I come in?" He has a cardboard box filled with Things. Jeonghan does not like where this is going.

— What story or scene are you most proud of?

pale fire. sebchal. read it now https://archiveofourown.org/works/32302255/chapters/80068213
